Korean Folk Village introduces traditional culture from the late Joseon period to both local and international visitors through cultural classes experience, shaman faith, seasonal customs and others. Also, the village shows various places with unique features such as a farming village, private house, official districts, Confucian academy, seodang (village school), and a village street, as well as a nobleman’s house and traditional workshop. Performances include Nongak (farmer’s music), martial art on horseback, traditional wedding ceremony, and other special events which are available depending on the season.

Hwaseong Fortress, Suwon

Suwon Hwaseong is a UNESCO World Heritage site located in Suwon. It was built in the late 18th century by King Jeongjo as a fortress and palace complex. The fortress walls span almost 6 kilometres and are dotted with four gates and a number of watchtowers. You can walk along the walls, explore the palace buildings, and enjoy cultural performances and events held within the site.

Suwon Nammun Markt

Suwon Nammun Market is a traditional market located in Suwon. The market has a history that dates back to the Joseon Dynasty, and it is one of the largest and oldest markets in the country. The market is situated near the famous Hwaseong Fortress, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
